The need for the crop which are going to help the poor economy of the farmers is now a necessity.The Govt. should intervene through the various channels to help the poor farmers.

recent infaltion rate in india has risen by 7%, the doom is on the midle class and the peasantry who have to face the brunt of priced rising higher and higer each day, the rich are getting higher and the poor are getting poor.

Data says that 17,000 farmers committed suicide in the year 2006 and 4,500 committed suicide in Maharashtra alone. In the month of January 2008, 74 suicides have been reported in Vidarbha. For these farmers, ploughing is no longer lucrative, migration to other cities is too costly, and they find only one way to get rid of moneylenders’ threat – SUICIDE. Read Here

More than 1,50,000 farmers committed suicide during 1997 and 2005, and 2/3 of them were from four ‘developed’ Indian states – Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. These states are ‘Suicide SEZ’ for farmers that means ‘Special Elimination Zone’ for farmers.
